I was thinking a new system like a Uhaul personal storage unit would benefit the city. The idea being that it’s linked to a individual, so if they commit crimes, it’s easier for police to search these storage units. The secondary benefit can be they can be owned by the people similar to businesses are, but the big thing here is that they are rented rather than owned. So if a person fails to meet their rent it gets locked and the city can have weekly auctions where people can buy the contents in the storage unit before it goes back out to the public.
